The Alpenrose Restaurant
Alpenrose History
This building was erected in 1978 as the Swiss Café by Max and Hilde. It was built by Mike Martin and architect Rick Arlen. All indoor and outdoor drawings were done by local artist Mike Grotzki.

The Swiss Café was sold in 1983 and the property was leased out for approximately eleven years. November 1, 1994, the original family, Max, Hilde and Myriam returned. After extensive renovations to the interior, the restaurant was re-opened under the new name of the ALPENROSE RESTAURANT.

Granddaughter Susie is the third generation in this family operated business. Susie graduated with a degree in Business Administration from the University of Denver, Colorado. She is at this time enjoying her position as Sales Operations Manager for Intrawest. She will, however, be making brief stops at the Alpenrose to work along side Max, Hilde and Myriam to maintain the family tradition.
