Owens River Water Trail Project
Drive east along Narrow Gauge Road north of Lone Pine, and you'll drop into the floodplain and notice a beautiful section of the Owens River. The Owens River Water Trail Project envisions a navigable stretch of river with all abilities access at the put-in and take-out where all people can float, fish, and swim the Owens River.

Because the Owens River does not flood and flush out its channel annually, cottonwood logs have plugged the river. Islands of muck and tule reeds have formed around logs, creating dams that construct navigation.

During two weekends this summer, volunteers will literally get their feet wet helping to remove this debris from the river channel. Wetsuits, tools, and snacks will be provided!

Space is limited so RSVP now to hold your spot!
